How To Create A Minecraft Java Edition Server In 2022

The requirements listed above are sufficient for the 1-4 players. For readers who are interested in creating an exclusive server, check out this article on Minecraft Wiki.

After you have met the requirements, follow this step-by-step procedure to set up servers:

#1 - Download the server.jar file

Download the server.jar file from Minecraft's official website. Players can find the server.jar file for the latest version on the website. After downloading, make sure the file name is minecraft_server.1.XX.X.jar, where XX.X is the version.

Create a folder titled "Minecraft Server" to store the server-related files.

#2 - Open command prompt

The next step is to open the command prompt. Look for the command prompt in the start menu. Type "java-version" to verify whether Java is installed or not.

Change your directory to the "Minecraft Server" folder that contains the JAR file. Copy the address of this folder from the file manager and enter "cd," and paste the folder address. Hit Enter to switch the directory to the server folder.

For example, cdC:\Users\Admin\Desktop\Minecraft Server

After changing the directory After that, enter Java -jar "name of your jar".jar" in the command prompt and hit enter. The error message will appear however there's no reason to be concerned about it.

#3 - Changes to Eula.txt, and note query.port settings

After running the jar the new text file with the name Eula will be added to the server folder. Open it using text editor and alter eula=false to eula=true and save.

A second file, called "server.properties", can be discovered by players. It contains all the required information and settings such as query.port and gamemode.

#4 - The server may be started

Enter the command to launch the jar again. The server should now be running without error.  Minecraft servers  can join the server by entering localhost or your public IP address into the IP address box. You can add ":25565" to the end of your public address to join the server.

Just share your IP address with trusted family and friends. It is a security risk to your family and home when you share it with strangers. Readers who are interested can find out more about the process of setting up a server by clicking here.
